Randoms

My computer has been out of commission for a while, so I just recently got a new one and have been spending the whole day trying to get most of my stuff back on it. I finally have enough back on it to get some artwork up so here are some random drawings I have been doing during the break. Now I am pretty sick and very sleepy but there is a lot of animating left to be, so I must go.

Foreign Soil

Hi there. I found some old artwork I did for a game me and a couple of other people made a few years back when I was attending Ai taking the Game Art and Design program. It was about this alien ant and you have to complete puzzles so that the sandflies will help you get home. It was a lot of fun to work on. Having the freedom and time to just do whatever you can imagine is awesome. I guess it is kind of like what I am doing right now with my short film except for the fact that I have to make things move this time. I mostly worked on concept art, interface design and some 3D modeling. I have actually found the game design documents online from one of the other members, so you can check it out if you want. I can't wait to see what I am gonna end up doing once I am done with school. As long as there is some art involved it should be fun. I will keep you guys posted on what happens when I enter into the real world.

Bookmarks

Here are a couple of bookmark designs I did a while back for an aboriginal pow wow sort of thing. I tried to mix aboriginal designs with my own creations. Apparently they were a hit and lots got sold, so I am happy.

Character Design'n

Here's another old school assignment for you. We had to make a character design pack for 2 or more characters. I wanted to go for the whole new verses old idea. Maybe later on if I have time I will do some more character packs because they are fun to do, even though this one didn't turn out as well as I would have liked.

Getting the Right Look

I am currently working on a short animation for my final assignment at school and so I have been playing around with different styles and colours to use. I have narrowed down the look to more or less what you see here. There will most likely still be some changes with the colours and textures, but I will get to that when I start painting my scenes. It should be interesting to see if I can get the film to look close to my concept or if it will fall into the great abyss.

I guess I should start this off with some art to let you guys have a feel of the stuff I like to create, so here are some assignments I did for Composition and Background Design classes.

I can't say I am super proud of any of these but I do still like some of them, which is pretty good in my books. I am sure most of you other artists out there know what I am talking about. We are always improving, so nothing looks good for very long.
